If you would like to support your child with this at home, please take a look at our calculation policy to see how we teach them at school.
Remembrance service with the Royal British Legion
On Thursday 6th November, the year 6's were joined by Royal British Legion who lead a remembrance service in the graveyard of the church. It was a poignant service and the children were extremely respectful.

Wellbeing day
Today we celebrated Wellbeing day in Willow class. We focused on community and belonging. We enjoyed creating class art, kindness post cards and a few spiritual moments.

Harvest festival worship at the Church
On Monday 6th October, Willow class visited the church for the harvest festival. It was a wonderful celebration of our farmers and food producers, as well as an opportunity to reflect. Thank you to all of those families who donated items, they will go to our food hub that serves our local community. Well done to Max and Amelia who read a bible passage.

Medal workshop with Colin
On Friday last week, our year 6 children from Willow and Maple had a fantastic opportunity to work with Colin from the Royal British Legion. Colin provides a medal mounting service to the armed forces. Colin reached out to our school over the Summer and came in to do a workshop. He has a lot of surplus materials, which means the year 6 children are going to be working on their very own medal set that they will create over the next few weeks. We look forward to showing Colin our creations when he returns to our school on the 6th November for the remembrance service with year 6's.

Road safety
On Wednesday 1st October, we had a road safety lesson with Mrs Hicks and we watched a broadcast. We are now experts in how to stay safe on the roads! Parents - ask us what we learnt!

Religion and worldviews lesson in the Church!
On Monday, Willow and Maple went to the church to learn about how Christians know what God is like. We looked for evidence within the church. It was a great opportunity to explore the church and ask Reverend Paul lots of questions about different items within the church.

Board games before the bell!
This morning, Willow class's soft start activity was board games. Everyone enjoyed challenging each other and there was a wonderful buzz in the classroom!

Miss Cunningham's marvellous maths group!
Today, Miss Cunningham's maths group took their starter outside. They were given a number and they had to put themselves in the correct position on the number line . This was a great opportunity to practice reading aloud our big numbers, as well as being able to compare and order them. There were lots of marvellous mistakes being made and some fantastic team work - well done Miss Cunningham's group!
